Sheila Darcey Founder & Executive Director
Sheila Darcey is the Founder of SketchPoetic & Living Canvas Foundation, and author of Sketch by Sketch: A Creative Path to Emotional Healing & Transformation. An artist, innovator, and facilitator, she has led arts and healing programs for diverse communities worldwide, including schools, hospitals, retreats, and organizations serving homeless and at-risk youth, veterans, and incarcerated individuals. With more than 25 years of experience in business consulting and technology, Sheila has worked with Fortune 500 companies and global brands on innovation and transformation initiatives. She has also partnered with organizations such as Compassion Prison Project, Safe Place for Youth, Today, I’m Brave, and Summit Series to bring creativity into spaces of healing and connection. As Founder and Executive Director, she leads the Foundation with a commitment to accessibility, inclusion, and integrity.
Mevan Randeniya Board Member
Mevan Randeniya is a Regional Manager Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation (LAEDC). He is a seasoned business leader with 25 plus years of experience founding and managing successful ventures across domestic and international markets. His career spans multiple industries, where he has consistently demonstrated the ability to navigate complex environments and drive sustainable growth. Alongside his private sector achievements, Mevan has a strong track record in the nonprofit space. He has served on numerous boards and currently contributes to Los Angeles–based nonprofit focused on regional economic development. His work includes providing technical assistance to local businesses, advancing workforce initiatives, conducting economic data analysis, and fostering foreign direct investment. As a contributor to the Living Canvas Foundation, Mevan brings both strategic insight and a steadfast commitment to creating meaningful social impact with a focus on inclusive economic prosperity.
Smrithi Narayan Board Member
Smrithi Narayan brings a unique blend of business development and fundraising experience across both the for-profit and nonprofit sectors. She currently serves as Senior Philanthropy Director at Humane World for Animals (formerly the Humane Society of the United States), where she raises major gifts across Southern California. After beginning her career in technology consulting, Smrithi transitioned to nonprofit fundraising in 2002 and has since advanced missions with organizations including Earthwatch Institute, Heal the Bay, AIDS Project Los Angeles, and the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles, where she was a founding member. Creating and strengthening communities has been a consistent thread throughout her career, and she remains deeply committed to connecting people and resources in service of meaningful social impact.
Amy Stanton Board Member
Amy Stanton brings over 25 years of experience in marketing and public relations, having worked with Fortune 100 corporations and progressive start-ups. In 2006, she founded Stanton & Company (S&Co) with a passion for promoting positive female role models and authentic messaging for women. Under her leadership, S&Co has grown into a leading boutique agency focused on healthy, active living, representing philosophy-driven brands, athletes, and experts across the health, wellness, and lifestyle industries. Previously, Amy served as Chief Marketing Officer for Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia and as Head of Marketing and Communications for NYC2012, New York’s Olympic bid, where she developed and executed both local and international campaigns. She began her career in account management at top advertising agencies including BBDO, JWT, Ellenson Group, and BBH.
Carlos Rodriguez Perez Board Member
Carlos Rodriguez Perez is the former Executive Director at Kingsboro Psychiatric Center. He is a graduate of the NYU Drama Therapy program and served at the NADTA board of directors. In 2009 Carlos was recruited by HHC to be part of an administrative team aiming to transform the Behavioral Health Service at Kings County Hospital Center. There he built the largest team of Creative Arts Therapists in a single institution. In collaboration with his team, they developed a national model for the treatment of people with SMI for underserved communities of immigrants. Furthermore, at KCHC Carlos explored how art interventions impact health care outcomes by engaging artists as studio residents within the hospital. Most recently Carlos has begun to explore the intersections of psychedelics and Creative Arts Therapies.
Jena Booher Board Member
Scarlett Lam is an Author, Creative Storyteller, and Advocate for authentic self-expression. Drawing from her multifaceted background as an actor, self-publisher, solo-performer and creative professional in branding and marketing, she brings a unique perspective to her work. Throughout her career, she has had the privilege of building and scaling nationally and internationally recognized brands, collaborating with exceptionally talented teams in dynamic, demanding environments where creative thinking, unique innovation, and irreverent problem-solving thrive. She has authored The LIGHT children's book, crafting narratives that encourage readers to embrace themselves fully and share their light with the world. Scarlett remains deeply committed to creating transformative narratives that inspire healing, authentic self-expression, and positive social change through the power of storytelling and artistic innovation.
Jena Booher, Ph.D., is a Business Psychologist, Culture Consultant, and Startup Advisor who helps executives and leaders transform their organizations and build high-performing cultures. A social scientist with a research focus on courage, she blends principles of work psychology, a decade of Wall Street experience, and a Ph.D. in Psychology to guide high-growth companies through critical inflection points. Her work results in stronger leadership alignment, improved employee engagement, reduced turnover, and sustained business success. Beyond her advisory work, Jena devotes time to pro bono efforts with social impact entrepreneurs. She partners with founders whose ventures center on hope and healing, finding deep fulfillment in supporting leaders who want to bring more compassion, resilience, and positive change into their companies and communities.
Bryan Beuhring Treasurer
Bryan Beuhring, CPA, is a seasoned Corporate Financial Officer and Executive Business Manager with more than 20 years of experience guiding companies through growth, restructuring, and operational transformation. Specializing in the entertainment industry, Bryan has led global teams, managed complex consolidations, and implemented ERP systems for organizations with revenues exceeding $800M. As founder of BCB Consulting, he advises production companies, agencies, and sports management firms on financial strategy, compliance, and profitability. Known for his ability to secure funding, reduce costs, and optimize performance, Bryan is a trusted partner to executives navigating today’s fast-changing business landscape.
